Helping Schools in Niger

Introduction

In 2005, I, Mr. Aboubacar Amadou Idé, along with two other Nigeriens, Mamane Nassirou Garba Meidadji and late Mahaman Laouali Djibril got together to initiate a campaign to help Niger in the areas of food nutrition, health and education. For three (3) years, with donations of recycled conference bags and members’ monthly fees, we were able to organize summer enrichment programs and donate to Niger school kids hundreds of school bags filled with school supplies. Several life events (Nassirou relocated to Niger, Laouali has passed away, may his soul rest in peace, etc.) came our way and what was going to become “The Niger Educational System Associates” has been put on hold. I, Aboubacar could not do the big work alone, but continued to send (with my modest means) school supplies to Niger. In 2014 I started a Consultancy Firm IDE services 24/7 (Conferences  Education – Office & School Supplies – Research – Supervision – Technology – Translations). With this Firm, I hope to get involved in activities that generate more financial resources in order to continue buying and shipping school supplies to Niger. I also hope to be in contact with other organizations and good will people, who will help support all the activities contributing to the improvement of lives in Niger. It must be noted that Niger is one of the poorest countries in the world and because of factors like land lock, language barrier, politics; Niger kids and their families are left with very little or no help. My analogy is that: Our Niger people have fallen in a well, it is up to us out of the country to come together and send them the helping rope”.
